Hello Cheryl,
My name is Jeff Crawford, Research Operations Specialist of the Pediatric Translational Research Unit at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. I just registered to the I-ACT Network this morning and while familiarizing myself with the site, I happened to find the network forum where I saw your question. I had the opportunity to attend a local symposium last fall and one of the presenters gave a talk titled ‘Protocol Scoring and Workload Leveling: Elevating Quality at the Clinical Research Site’. The presenter’s name was Christina Talley, Director of the Office of Regulatory Affairs and Translational Management at the Houston Methodist Research Institute. During her presentation, Christina identified several available scoring tools including the following: NCI Trial Complexity and Elements Scoring Model, Ontario Protocol Assessment Level (OPAL), Comprehensive Clinical Trial Management System (CTMS) software (ex., OnCore, BioOptronics, etc…), University of Michigan Research Effort Tracking Application, Wichita Community Clinical Oncology Program (WCCOP) Protocol Acuity Tool (WPAT), and American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Clinical Trial Workload Assessment Tool. After a brief review of these scoring tools, Christina was able to demonstrate and share information on a tool that she personally created called the Protocol Acuity Rating Scale (PARS) tool. If you are interested in receiving more information about this tool, I can definitely reach out to Christina.
I hope this information is useful and please feel free to reach out if you’d like to discuss further.
Have a great weekend!
Regards,
Jeff
